MADDY HUNTER
COMMITS TO NCAA D1 ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY
Congratulations to Seattle Starz 2017 midfielder Maddy Hunter on committing to Arizona State University, the newest NCAA DI program in the west! Maddy has been with Starz since her early middle school years and is currently a junior at Eastlake High School where she is a member of the National Honor Society. She has led the HS Elite team in draw controls in addition to having incredible field presence. Her natural athleticism and sheer fundamental skill will serve her well as she competes at the highest national level. In addition to playing for Starz, Maddy is a leader and midfielder for the Lake Sammamish Lacrosse Club. Her accomplishments there enabled her to become a member of the U19 Team Washington that competed at the 2015 National Tournament. Starz is incredibly proud of Maddy’s achievements and will look forward to following her career as a Sun Devil!
“In all of my time with the Starz program, Maddy has been the most consistent and relied upon player amongst the elites. As our draw specialist, she constantly controls possession at critical times, in addition to making VERY FEW mistakes on the field. She’s our energizer bunny – she goes and goes and goes without a single complaint. She’s a work horse that gets the job done without question; her mental toughness, positive attitude and will to win makes her every coaches dream! Coach Connor is lucky to have her as she builds a program at ASU. I don’t think I’ve come to terms with just how much the program and I will miss Maddy after next year. Her prowess on the field and wonderful sense of self and humor have certainly enabled Maddy to leave her mark.” Says coach, Lyndsey Gillis.
“I am super excited to help grow Arizona State’s Women’s lacrosse program from the ground up. I want to give a big THANK YOU to my teammates for being so amazing these past few years. I don’t know where I would be today without them. I am truly honored to be apart of the Seattle Starz lacrosse program and I am so thankful to have Lyndsey as a coach. Lyndsey Gillis is an amazing coach who has pushed me to be the best team player I can possibly be. In all our tournaments, we face the toughest competition, and have amazing recruiting opportunities. I especially love the competition we face on the East Coast, and how successful our team has been in EVERY tournament. I can’t wait to see what lies ahead.
