Congratulations to Starz ’20 defender, Lexi Gonzales, for committing to NCAA D3 University of Redlands. The Snohomish senior captain was selected to represent Washington State twice at the Girls’ National Tournament. Gonzales has been recognized by Washington Schoolgirls Lacrosse Association as an All-Conference and All-State player. She is also successful in the classroom and a member of the National Honor Society.
“The culture of the program has helped me excel on and off the field throughout the last 6 years,” stated Lexi. “Besides the obvious tough competition we were consistently faced with, I thrived off the friendly but highly competitive nature at practice and passionate coaches that always kept us focused and pushing towards our goals. It has taught me life-long lessons and given me life-long friendships with some amazing people who I can’t wait to play against at the next level!”
“Lexi has been the cornerstone of our defense for as long as I can remember. The second she entered high school her ability to read space, her strength and her speed have been incredibly important to our team’s success,” said Lyndsey Gillis. “All club teams that play at our level have the ability to score; it’s a team’s defense that separates the good from the great. With Lexi as the quarterback, we have found an incredible amount of success. I will miss Lexi’s fire and determination in the backfield, but I’m so excited to see what she accomplishes for Coach Soboti as a Bulldog.”
