BODE MAURER COMMITS TO TOWSON UNIVERSITY
Congratulations to Starz ’21 attacker, Bode Maurer, on his commitment to NCAA D1 Towson University. In 2019, the Tigers won the CAA Conference Championship and played in the NCAA tournament. 38 alumni have gone on to play in the MLL.
“I’m very excited to announce my commitment to play Division 1 lacrosse at Towson University,” said Maurer. “None of this would be possible without the support of my parents. I would like to thank my mom for always believing that I could reach this goal and traveling with me around the country to cheer me on. I’d like to thank my dad for putting the lacrosse stick in my hand at a young age and coaching me everyday since. I’d also like to thank all of the coaches I have had throughout my time on Seattle Starz, ADVNC, and West Coast Starz: Scott Kelly, Nick Riley, Mike Pittas, Lewis Ratcliff, Rich Schwartz, Jack Pruitt, Matt O’Neill, Jesse Foss, Jono Zissi, and Chris Rotelli. Thank you for helping me grow as a player from 5th grade to high school. Seattle Starz opened up the doors to play at the highest level in high school. I’d also like to thank my high school coaches Stephen Ruane and Trevor Rainville for helping me grow as a better player and teammate.”
“Wow – proud coach here! Congratulations to Bode on his commitment to Towson! Bode is a hard-working and smart player who has a deep love for the game and a dangerous set of skills,” explained Pruitt. “Those skills have come as a direct result of his year-round investment in addressing his weaknesses and honing his strengths. Bode is constantly working on his shooting, dodging, and conditioning when nobody is watching to ensure he is ready to be the best on game day. While I know that Coach Nadelen and the rest of the TU staff were first drawn to Bode’s dynamic play, I suspect that they, like me, will come to value his strong work ethic above all. Way to go Bode – Seattle Starz cannot wait to cheer you on as you achieve enormous success in the years to come. Go Tigers!”
