Congratulations to Starz ’20 LSM, Mason Beckmeyer, on his recent commitment to NCAA D3 Christopher Newport University in Newport News, VA. The Skyline HS senior has been an academic honors scholar throughout his high school career and in 2018 he was named to the All-Kingco 2nd team.

“I would like to thank Scott Kelly for providing me the opportunity to play with Starz when I moved here in 6th grade.  It allowed me to meet a great group of guys and we kept that core group together from 6th-12th grade,” said Beckmeyer.  “We are all from different schools and our team had a special bond that will never be forgotten.  I have had so many amazing coaches at Starz and every single one of them believed in me.  Coach Steve O’Neill played a huge role in my development as a lacrosse player and as a person. Coach Rich knew how to motivate me to get the results we needed. Every coach I have had at Starz has impacted me in a positive way and I am grateful for the opportunity to play for this organization. I look forward to taking everything I have learned at Starz and carrying it forward to CNU.”

“A huge congratulations to Mason on his commitment to Christopher Newport! Mason’s aggressiveness and physicality made him a critical part of our 2020 team defense, and his tenacity and fluid stickwork on GBs made him an exciting player to watch every season,” remarked HS Boys Director, Jack Pruitt.  “Mason was an impact player for Starz and we fully believe that he will have similar positive impact at CNU with his coachability and work ethic. Go Captains!”
